The Whiskey Snug is a liquor store and tasting lounge located in the back of the Celtic Ranch, the long-standing Irish clothing and gift store located in historic downtown Weston, MO. Situated north of the Kansas City area, we are a 40-minute drive from downtown Kansas City and 20 minutes away from MCI Airport.
Our Whiskey Snug collection began as a table with a dozen Irish whiskeys we sampled in the Celtic Ranch, founded in 2005 by the original founder, Terry Kast. Our selection expanded into single malt Scotches and Irish liqueurs. Soon enough we ventured into bourbons and ryes then became a full-fledged whiskey lounge! We added an upper level in 2018 and renovated it for expanded seating in 2021. Now we boast one of the widest selections of whiskey in the Midwest—and we’re damn proud of it!

Yes! From historic Irish and Scotch whiskies to fast-growing beloved Bourbons, Ryes and more—we have an extensive collection of whiskies waiting for you to sip and savor.

We serve our individual whiskeys by the one ounce pour. If you would like to reserve a table, you can book online.

Yes! We encourage you to book online in advance especially if you plan on attending with a group or coming on a weekend. Space is very limited on the weekends.

We offer gin & tonics, beers on tap and select wine by the glass.

Unfortunately, due to local and state liquor laws, we are unable to pack, ship and deliver whiskey.

There is NO cover charge. Seating is first come, first serve. Live music is hosted in the Upper Snug every Friday night from 6 - 8 PM.

Unfortunately not. This includes young children and babies even if they are on a strap or in a stroller and accompanied by an adult. Only those 21 and over are allowed in the lower and upper levels of the Whiskey Snug due to state liquor laws, liability policy and limited space. Please have a valid ID ready.

Unfortunately, we do not allow pets in the Whiskey Snug due to limited space and fragile product. Only service animals are allowed.
